The Nezam manufactory ranks among the 20th-century Tabriz workshops that produce large-format medallion rugs in the classical tradition. Nezam stands for solid handcrafted quality in the conservative Tabriz spectrum, not as widely publicised as Djavan or Torabi, but well known in the trade for its dependable work.
Nezam rugs are knotted from kurk wool on cotton, with occasional silk accents. Knot density sits in the upper Tabriz mid-range, 50 to 60 Raj (around 250,000 to 500,000 knots per square meter). Patterns are classically curvilinear: medallions, Herati fields, and floral borders.
The color scheme stays traditional: indigo, red-brown, ivory, and subdued gold.
