Alongside Jamshidi and Mohammadi, Erami is one of the leading master weaver families of Qom. The workshop has been active since the second half of the 20th century and specialises in the finest silk rugs with classically Persian patterns.
Erami rugs typically consist of pure natural silk — pile, warp, and weft. Knot density reaches 700,000 to over 1,000,000 knots per square metre. The workshop favours classical patterns from the Safavid tradition: Shah Abbas palmettes, central medallions, HeratiHeratiKlassisches Muster aus einem Rautenrahmen mit zentraler Rosette und vier gebogenen Blättern (Fisch-Motiv). The palette is high-contrast and clear: deep indigoIndigoPflanzlicher Farbstoff aus der Indigopflanze, der tiefe Blautöne erzeugt. Through this classical palette Erami pieces feel timeless — neither overloaded nor of a passing fashion.
Every signed piece carries the family name knotted in. On the European and American collector market, Erami rugs sit in the upper price bracket of signed Qom silks.
Together with Jamshidi and Mohammadi, Erami forms the canon of "classical" Qom masters. A collector seeking a Qom silk rug of museum quality almost inevitably arrives at one of these three workshops.
